FAQs

Here are answers to questions our customers have asked us.  Most of these facts are on our web site but this is a quick guide.

Should you have a question that is not answered below or anywhere on our website please do not hesitate to ask – remember there are no silly questions.   Just send us an email and we will be happy to respond within 24 hours.

What is your hottest curry?

  • Mangalorean Beef – you can use this spice with other meats.  We use it as a rub on salmon - 1 teaspoons per cutlet with some sea salt then pan fry.  You can also use it as a rub with fish or to make a stuffing; in a prawn curry with tomatoes/coconut milk or in a chicken curry.

How much spice do you need to use?

  • All our packs are designed for 2 kilograms of the main ingredient – meat/fish/veggies. However, if you prefer things mild please halve the spice recommended but keep the quantities of the sauce ingredients in the instructions.

Where are your stockists located?

  • All our stockists are listed under the DISTRIBUTION tab.

How should we store the spice?

  • As we do not use preservatives we recommend keeping them in the fridge in a tupperware box.

What yoghurt should we use?

  • We recommend Greek yoghurt (brought to room temperature before use) in our curries.

Can we carry them interstate / overseas?

  • Our blends do not contain seeds so yes, you certainly can. We have had customers from New Zealand who have declared and informed us that they were permitted to take them into the country.

How long can we keep them?

  • Spices do not deteriorate but you will lose volatile oils which give the blends their fragrance. We recommend you use your spice within 3 months from the time you purchase them.  Having said that, we have tested our spices 3 years from the year they are blended and they perform well.

Can we use a spice for fish or vegetable that is recommended for a meat curry?

  • Generally no, but it depends on what spice blend you intend to use. Again email us and we will be happy to guide you.
